When you want to open people’s eyes to the realities of factory farms, pictures are a powerful way to tell the story. Our Less = More campaign for the Sierra Club of Michigan paired photos of the polluted, inhumane conditions at CAFOs with photos of cleaner, more natural farm settings to focus attention on current farm bill subsidies and where taxpayer money is being spent.

This stark contrast created an emotional impact that spoke to a broad audience which ultimately targeted state legislators, demonstrating how giving less money to factory farms could mean more to the entire state of Michigan. We supported the campaign with a series of posters, tabletop signs, and banners for the Sierra Club and its affiliates to use at events, a webpage directing supporters to take action, and a pop-up for the Sierra Club and its affiliates to put the issue front and center with visitors to their web sites.
